SiZ0n 25

A birthday poem at twenty-five. On tasting the sea, the quarter-century mark, and why you shouldn't race time to its destination.

Songs of the LotusPoetry

For the full piece, read at Songs of the Lotus.

Returning to this blog after a long absence felt like opening a time capsule — a twenty-year-old Dio sitting on her balcony in Vienna. I was nervous to share anything then. I still am. It feels like contemplating a skydive every time.

The more we live the less important it becomes to "know." Some things can only be felt.

I've tasted the misty salt of the sea
Seen the smell of mint sprinkled on trees

1/4 of my life has been inspired
By all the events that have transpired

Don't race time to its destination.
Live there. Stay.
